The BIG Move
Wednesday, June 24, 2009
Have been missing in action for like.... 1 and half week??!
It was so funny, when I came into office, people were asking me
How's your teeth? I heard you were sick..."
But actually the teeth thingy only took one day away from me but it was the BIG MOVE that kept me busy busy busy!
Since last week, we started packing our stuff into boxes... Gosh! IT's really a feat cos I can't imagine how on earth we can squeeze the whole house into 40 boxes??!!
Nevertheless, we did it. Thank God we found a great deal and sent 20 of the boxes to 2 storage containers that cost us only $80 per month! Very very Cheap for storage space!
We shifted, unpacked, cleaned my MIL's house from 10am till 1am on Monday.
Really thank Ben 10 and Jermaine and Vincent for coming over to help with the move as well as the setting up of our internet, printer etc...
On Tuesday, me and Jona made 3 trips back to our old place to transport the remnants to Bt Panjang and revamped the whole place especially the kitchen. I must say my MIL threw away 3 big boxes of pots and pans and one of them was already 50 years old?!!!!
The final trip back to my CCK place was quite "Emo" for me. not that I cried or what but I kept walking to all the rooms, toilets, kitchen living area in the name of checking if we left anything behind...:( After all, this was where we started our family and built our home! From nothing to having a family of 2 kiddos! Really miss the place.
And when I found out that the new owner is going to revamp everything.. as in change the cabinets, floor, toilets, etc, I actually felt indignant! HAhaha you must be thinnking that I am very Bo Liao... since it's not my house anymore!

Well, well... life got to move on. As the Chinese saying goes... If the old doesn't go, the new wouldn't come! So Praying that this will be the start of something NEW! Hehehe:)
Anyway, I must say that my MIL's place is really very big.. SO big that it can contain 2 sets of sofa and coffee table (New style: Fusion of the Comtemporary and Traditional)and still has lots of space to move around! My MIL said that the space can be used as a dancing floor! Can u imagine how big it is?
And for our rooms, we made it almost like our original state just that we have one more TV in each room.. Yes! Even the room that Jona stays! Hahaha there is such an abundance of TVs in the house!
Ja is very excited and even Jew thinks that they are in a hotel room.. with aircon, music, LCD TV, Orange Lamp... Mmmmm very COSY!
I realised from this move that to make every move a smooth transition, one got to look out for the 5 senses or at least 3!
1) Hearing: We also play the same few music for sleeping time etc
2) Feel: That's why we installed Air-con to FEEL cool and Comfy
3) Smell: Can't do without our Candle Burner and scent.. and of course the Harpy Lime smell for the bathroom!
4) Sight: We always need a dim yellow light to create the soft and cosy feel!
5) Taste: Get Jona to do the cooking so that it will taste the same?? NO la I think I like my MIL's cooking! Yummy!
Tadah! There you have it! The 5 senses rule to a smooth transition!
