The BIG Move
Wednesday, June 24, 2009
Have been missing in action for like.... 1 and half week??!
It was so funny, when I came into office, people were asking me
How's your teeth? I heard you were sick..."
But actually the teeth thingy only took one day away from me but it was the BIG MOVE that kept me busy busy busy!
Since last week, we started packing our stuff into boxes... Gosh! IT's really a feat cos I can't imagine how on earth we can squeeze the whole house into 40 boxes??!!
Nevertheless, we did it. Thank God we found a great deal and sent 20 of the boxes to 2 storage containers that cost us only $80 per month! Very very Cheap for storage space!
We shifted, unpacked, cleaned my MIL's house from 10am till 1am on Monday.
Really thank Ben 10 and Jermaine and Vincent for coming over to help with the move as well as the setting up of our internet, printer etc...
On Tuesday, me and Jona made 3 trips back to our old place to transport the remnants to Bt Panjang and revamped the whole place especially the kitchen. I must say my MIL threw away 3 big boxes of pots and pans and one of them was already 50 years old?!!!!
The final trip back to my CCK place was quite "Emo" for me. not that I cried or what but I kept walking to all the rooms, toilets, kitchen living area in the name of checking if we left anything behind...:( After all, this was where we started our family and built our home! From nothing to having a family of 2 kiddos! Really miss the place.
And when I found out that the new owner is going to revamp everything.. as in change the cabinets, floor, toilets, etc, I actually felt indignant! HAhaha you must be thinnking that I am very Bo Liao... since it's not my house anymore!

Well, well... life got to move on. As the Chinese saying goes... If the old doesn't go, the new wouldn't come! So Praying that this will be the start of something NEW! Hehehe:)
Anyway, I must say that my MIL's place is really very big.. SO big that it can contain 2 sets of sofa and coffee table (New style: Fusion of the Comtemporary and Traditional)and still has lots of space to move around! My MIL said that the space can be used as a dancing floor! Can u imagine how big it is?
And for our rooms, we made it almost like our original state just that we have one more TV in each room.. Yes! Even the room that Jona stays! Hahaha there is such an abundance of TVs in the house!
Ja is very excited and even Jew thinks that they are in a hotel room.. with aircon, music, LCD TV, Orange Lamp... Mmmmm very COSY!
I realised from this move that to make every move a smooth transition, one got to look out for the 5 senses or at least 3!
1) Hearing: We also play the same few music for sleeping time etc
2) Feel: That's why we installed Air-con to FEEL cool and Comfy
3) Smell: Can't do without our Candle Burner and scent.. and of course the Harpy Lime smell for the bathroom!
4) Sight: We always need a dim yellow light to create the soft and cosy feel!
5) Taste: Get Jona to do the cooking so that it will taste the same?? NO la I think I like my MIL's cooking! Yummy!
Tadah! There you have it! The 5 senses rule to a smooth transition!

Teeth Problem
Friday, June 19, 2009
I thought the wisdom teeth saga was a great success and a breeze for me until 2 nights ago...
I was bathing when suddenly blood started to GUSH out of my mouth uncontrollably! Yes, I wasn't exaggerating...
I was so scared that I shouted for CK immediately and quickly bit on to a cotton pad while I quickly finished off with my bath..
And after which, my wound (which should recover by now) started to feel painful and then my 2 bottom front teeth started to ache for no reason..
As a result of that, I felt really irritable as it is painful (even as I am blogging now)!
Went to the dentist on Thurs for emergency checkup...
The wound got infected and the stiches may have caused a tear.. that explains whay it bled profusely!
The dentist cleaned my wound, washed my teeth, did some filling... and said that the stinging pain from the front teeth may last 2 weeks! OMG!
Sigh! Praying for speedy recovery! This stinging sensation is worse than childbirth in my personal opinion!
Anyway, brought Ja for a show yesterday.. Alies VS Monsters.. Very nice show! Very funny! We both laughed like nobody's business in the cinema!
There will be more shows (kids) coming up...Ice Age 3, UP etc.. Trailers look good! Anticipating!:)

Eventful Thurs!
Friday, June 12, 2009
Finally extracted my wisdom teeth yesterday! I was actually looking forward to that despite the horror stories I heard from some of the GUYS (yes, male by birth... man by choice) in the zone!
Nevertheless, I must admit that I wa a bit scared too cos I went with the idea to extract just one.. but Xray showed that I had 3!!! However, the Doc, Dr Ong who attended to me from Pan Atria Dental was really good.. HE is experienced and will tell you things to calm your nerves before the surgery!
In the end, I felt nothing and it was like a short sleep for me. When I woke up, all 3 teeth (and they looked gross!) were plucked out!
I guess the most unbearable experience was when he put me on laughing gas! Sorry ah, I did not break into holy laughter... but my heart beat increased rapidly and I felt like "dying".. ya I dun know why but it felt suffocating for me in the midst of knocking out.. So I feebly asked the doc for HELP...
He realised that something was not so right ad then lowered the dosage before injecting me something to make me sleep! Phew! Thank God I never attempted laughing gas for my child birth experience! IT felt so out of control!
Anyway, I guess my weight losing plan may not succeed as expected! COs I dun feel much pain, just a lot of bleeding and VERY VERY HUNGRY!
In fact after the surgery, I went straight to the Youth Camp.. Wow! THey served a buffet with Siew Mai and chicken wings, fried rice and mee goreng!! Yummy! I tried to eat 1 siew mai and some fried rice at the slowest pace ever as my mouth was swollen and cant really open much! But still, I was not satisfied! Sigh... it was really a torture!
Anyway, the youth camp was great! We broke the Guiness Book of record by making the largest Youth Olympics Logo with 2010 lightsticks!! THe "opening ceremony" started at the strike of 2010 (8.10pm) with our strike force marching in! They were super FANTASTIC! Well done! THe representative from the Youth Olympics Council as well as the Guiness book of records also came to grace the event! And oh yes! The camp fire was great.. The whole feeling is like a mini opening of Beijing Olympics!! (Hahaha ya i was exaggerating a bit!)
But Ja was so proud of his daddy as he lit up the fire and he kept shouting" Thats my daddy lei! He won He Won!!!"
Hehehe... I wonder what he won? Ja must have thought his daddy was a runner for the Olympics??
Anyway, we had a good but long "Forum" with some senior leaders after the event..
Who are the senior leaders there? Well, ask around for the 4 heavenly kings! and also heavenly Queens! Hahaha.
Whats the conclusion of the forum?
Well, its all about Developers, Main Con and Sub-con!!! (Parables?) hee!
Left the school around 2am:( Ja was around all these while and he really enjoyed himself so much! Helping out at different stations of the camp! He is only 6 and already involving in Youth camp! We were saying when he is 12, will he grow so fast that he will be joining ADULTS group??? Esp his favourite Uncles and Aunties will all be leading adults by then??!
Anyway, after the camp fire, Ja boy went around to collect all the used light sticks and started "selling" to some 'Aunties' like Ruxin and Audrey! And you know what? He managed to earn $5 by selling USED light Sticks! Wow! Now I am worried that he may be doing trading when he goes Primary School next time.. Selling erasers etc...
Thank God for painless teeth extraction!

Imagine a 30 plus year old mother excited about the YOUTH CAMP??!
Well, I am more excited about the camp fire.. like I've said.. deprived childhood.. hehehe
Anyway, I am excited also because I have prepared a session for sharing on the first day. It's been some time since I last shared to the zone.. spent about 2 days preparing it...
What's the topic? Well, It's something in my heart that I have been wanting to share for the longest time... since our church embraces the cultural mandate...
I hope it will turn out good tmr!
Anyway, I heard that Ja's power ranger sets have been borrowed for some thematic performance:) Ja is very excited about it cos he feels that he is contributing something to the camp! He has been bugging me about the camp and that he wants to go tmr!
I told him tmr will be a whole day of prayer meetings! Hahaha.. so that he only attends Thurs:)
Ok gotta zzz now... Ck just reached home!!!

Excited for things to come!
Friday, June 5, 2009
Well, here I am blogging again...
This is what will happen when:
1) Husband not home yet.. so no one to talk to..
2) Son not home at all.. cos staying over porpor house for his hols!
3) Daughter knocked out already cos too tired from playing and laughing..
.....
And here I am, doing up some reports for clients, checking out the investment market, msning with some friendz... and blogging again:) hehehe
Well, I am excited.. for many things...
1) Moving to stay with my in laws soon.. end of the mth.. So a lot of packing to do, and planning for some minor reno works at her place to make the transition better for us hee!
I am excited and yet a bit apprehensive... Well, I have not stayed with in laws before and though they are really some of the nicest and most easy-going people around, yet its not easy to stay together.. a lot to give and take and closing of not just one but maybe even 2 eyes! Think my fellow taitais in TTFA can testify to that ya?
Think I am a bit too imgainaitve too.. I even thought of buying some new home clothes to wear! You see, I am used to wearing SHORT shorts at home.. comfy mah.. and also sleeveless tank tops.. cooling mah...
But with my in laws, think they better not be too short and too cooling! So another reason for me to shop! hahaha
Reno works... Mmmmm what colour should I paint for the bedrooms there? Any suggestions? I cant be too slack about this cos we be staying there for at least a year or more!!! Wow!
And nice soup to drink every now and then! Yum Yum!
2) Any other exiting things? Well, it may sound a bit out but yes! It's the Code Red 2! Even though I am not very involved... but me and Ja are exited about the campfire night! Hahaha...
Can you believe it? I have not attended any camp fire before in all my life! Erm maybe once when I was a BROWNIE... Huh? What's that? Its a CCA or rather, a little girl guide for Primary schoolers. They wear brown uniforms and also stand around a small mushroom to say the pledges... quite funny.
Also I will be doing a session on the first day... oops have not prepare yet! HELP!!
3) Next happening thing is the extraction of my wisdom tooth next Thurs. Scared yet excited cos it's been bugging me for 3 years! So pardon me if I seem to diminish in wisdom next week cos u know la... the WISDOM tooth is being extracted!
Gosh! Hopefully I can lose a few kilos after the extraction:) Think I am more excited about this aspect than the extraction itself!
4) Next exciting thing is to look forward to see my income SHOOT SHOOT SHOOT up like never before!!!::)) How? Why? Aiyah, BF over so I am full of expectancy! Now is the time!
5) Another exciting thing is the TTFA first gathering at Shuying's place next sat. It's been a long time since we gather to eat, talk and be merry:) Think it will be such fun!
6) More exciting things... of course not forgetting the 3 couples who will be tying the knot in june and July.. Looking forward to their weddings:)
Are you excited for what's to come? I AM!!! SO EXCITING!!!:)

What a Dinner!
Thursday, June 4, 2009
Remember I was mentioning about the unbelievable dinner we had last Sunday? Well, here it is....
It was supposed to be my dad's and Ja's BD dinner.. So we chose this Chinese restaurant at Novotel Hotel Clarke Quay.. (Next to previous Liang Court?)
It looked posh and not crowded.. at least I thought so for a sunday night!
Then... I realised why...
Case #1:
We ordered Jasmine tea and They served us Chrysantheman tea.... ok still alright...
Case #2:
When the roast chicken was served, Ck asked for some soy sauce from the captain and this was what we got in return....
Captain: "Huh u wanted soy sauce for your son to eat with his rice? I thought you
found the chicken to be too bland.... Anyway it's not healthy to do that
for your son... You should educate him to eat with sauce instead...
there were no other dish with sauce out yet and Ja was HUNGRY!)
Boy, come sit up straight and eat... ya then take some yam and vegetable
to eat too.. its healthy for you... BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH..."
And he went on and on standing there and lecturing us and went on and on and on........
As you can see, I am really ANGRY!!! Cos he is such a busybody... and he looks like.. u know.. Phua Chu Kang? Ya with curly hair!!! and Big rings on his fingers!!!
By the way, Ja was rolling his eyes too! He couldnt stand this guy hovering over him and teaching him how to eat properly, sit properly....
Case #3:
My mum forgot to order sharks fin soup and halfway thru the dinner, she requested to add on to our order...
Captain (again) "You can't eat sharks fin soup at this point of the dinner... you
should have ordered at the beginning. If you eat now, you wont be
able to taste it..."
I mean, we appreciate his honesty.. but in the end he simply refused to let us order!!! Help! This guy is so irritating and has absolutely NO favor at all..
Case #4:
Towards the end of the dinner, he came back and realised Ja did not finish the noodles (precisely cos it's not tasty at all!)...
Captain (yet again) "Boy, why you never finish your noodles? Be good, finish it,
don't waste it..."
Me: "Hahaha no la, just now you supervise him to finish that bowl
of rice... he was so good to finish it and has no more space
for noodles now... Ja, come thank uncle..." :(((
And with that, the PCK captain went away and never came back to our table again....
WHAT A DINNER! DON'T GO TO THIS RESTAURANT ANYMORE.. SERVICE IS BAD AND FOOD IS BAD AND ITS NOT CHEAP TOO!!!!! DUH!
.....................................................................................
ok.. I am done with manifesting:) It's over now... I am happy now! :) Hee

Nice Place!!
Tuesday, June 2, 2009
Ja had a wonderful yesterday with his buddies in the zone.... namely that gang lor! Uncle Aaron and Yujie... and the rest of the gang like Aunty Cheryl and Tina blah blah..
Thanks for making his day so great! He really enjoyed himself V much!
Kept talking about his day and his Fish and Co BD celebration!
And becos of that, me and Ck were able to take a break and went over to JB...
Initially I was like... JB.. again? Cos I was thinking of City Square and the same places..but Ck brought me to his usual hangout which is away from the busy city square area.. and I must say I really like that place!
It's nice and clean and quiet but not too quiet...
We had massage by authentic Thai ladies or aunties i would say... Price is good!
Then we ate at Old Town Coffee at half the price of Spore cos of the currency... went shopping for groceries and clothes at a very big and clean mall and the prices were good too!
At night, we went to eat a stone grill thingy which is FABULOUS! YUM YUMMY! And we ended the day with a good cup of ice Black Canyon coffee! Mmmmmmm!!! V NICE!
So I have decided to take this kind of break once every fortnight if possible... The massage makes me feel like I am back to Phuket again!:)
So, WHERE IS THIS PLACE???
Sorry, cant tell cos my husband says he wants to keep it personal... at least for now! Hahahah!
But the JB leaders should know... Please Hush Hush!
Will blog about an experience me and my family had while eating at a restaurant last Sunday.... Ya, I need time to blog about that.. cos its really infuriating!
Stay tuned!
